At On Time Lapse, we love a good adventure—especially when it’s for a great cause. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our support of the Tow Mater team, who are taking part in the Variety Bash QLD charity drive this year. Even better? We’ve strapped one of our cutting-edge time lapse cameras to their car roof to capture every moment of their incredible journey across Queensland.
What Is the Variety Bash?
The Variety Bash QLD is more than just a road trip—it’s Queensland’s most iconic motoring event, designed to raise funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity. Participants deck out their vehicles in wacky themes, costumes, and a whole lot of personality, then hit the road for a multi-day trek through some of the most rugged and remote areas of the state.
Along the way, they stop at schools, regional communities, and local landmarks, delivering much-needed funds, resources, and smiles to children and families who need a helping hand. Every dollar raised goes toward helping kids who are sick, disadvantaged or living with a disability.
Meet the Tow Mater Team
This year, one of the standout entrants is the Tow Mater team, who are rolling along in style with their themed vehicle inspired by the loveable tow truck from Cars. With a big heart and an even bigger presence on the road, the team is making a massive difference—and having a heap of fun doing it.

Capturing the Journey – Live Time Lapse Footage
To add a bit of fun and tech flair to the adventure, we at On Time Lapse have installed one of our high-resolution time lapse cameras to the roof of the Tow Mater car. The camera automatically captures a photo every five minutes, giving you a real-time window into the Variety Bash experience.
